Community Involvement Scholarship

College Scholarship Application Criteria

Parent(s) or Student must have been a member of the Civic Club or A Highly Active Volunteer in Community Events in Greater Hampstead

  • Applicant Must be a High School graduate or currently attending college.
  • Applicant Must have participated in at least 1 Civic Club Event.
  • Applicant Must NOT be a previous winner.
  • Applicant Must Identify school attending in the fall (if available).
  • Applicant Must submit the application form and essay (150-200 words) on the following question:  How does your Community Service or Volunteerism make Hampstead a better place to live?


Please note: Scholarship winners are highly encouraged to attend the scholarship award presentation at the 4th of July Festival about 6:30-7PM at the bandstand behind the Civic Club.  Winner of the top scholarship (Brian Colbert Memorial) will be highly encouraged to attend the Brian Colbert Memorial Golf Tournament dinner in August.

Deadline & Submission

Online submissions must be received by midnight, April 1st.

Mailed correspondence's must be postmarked by midnight,  April 1st and sent to:

  • School acceptance letters can be emailed or mailed. 
  • The scholarship will be issued during the students’ second semester after scholarship notification.
  • Scholarships are only good for one year and are not renewable each year.
  • Electronic submissions need to be received by midnight, April 1st.
  • Mailed correspondences must be postmarked by midnight, April 1st. 
  • Recipients are expected to volunteer in one or more of this year’s Hampstead Civic Club events.
